Dr. Tiya Miles, a professor of history at Harvard University and Radcliffe alumnae professor at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, is the author of four scholarly monographs and a novel. Her work explores the meeting place of public memory, urban history, African American, and American Indian history between the 18th and 21st centuries. The title of her presentation is “The Call of the Ancestors: Hope and the Historical Imagination.”
