Collaborations in Discipline-based Education Research (CiDER): A summer REU program
We are excited to announce our 12th summer of undergraduate research in discipline-based education at North Dakota State University. The CiDER REU program is for any undergraduate interested in exploring the learning and teaching of STEM at the undergraduate level. Join us for an immersive, 10-week summer research experience. Potential projects are diverse and interdisciplinary. Our program includes on-campus housing, a $7000 stipend, mentoring by some of the best researchers in DBER, and a cohort experience like no other. Women, underserved minorities, and first/second year STEM majors are encouraged to apply. The program begins Tuesday, May 26, 2026 (arrival 1-3 days prior) and runs through Friday, July 31, 2026 (departure on Saturday, August 1). To apply, please complete an online application and have two references (folks who know you well and can speak to your strengths!) submit letters online. Completed applications are due February 2, 2026. Please note: Students who face financial hardship traveling to Fargo for the program may be eligible for a travel award. Please contact Dr. James Nyachwaya for more information.
