Summer Internship Funding

19 January 2026

Summer internships offer a valuable space to connect your academic interests with first-hand professional experience. If you have secured an opportunity that aligns with your goals, but is unpaid or underpaid, the Career Center is here to support you.  Through Summer Internship Funding, you can apply for up to $5,350 to help offset real and necessary expenses associated with pursuing a summer experience including: housing, food, transportation, and required equipment or uniforms.

Application Deadlines:

Applications are reviewed in waves. Because the pool of available funding decreases with each cycle, we strongly encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.

Each cycle closes at 11:59 p.m. CST on the following dates:

  • Sunday, February 1, 2026
  • Sunday, March 1, 2026
  • Sunday, April 5, 2026
  • Sunday, May 3, 2026

After May 3, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through June 8, or until funding is exhausted.
Applicants will be notified of funding decisions within three weeks of the deadline they applied under.

Are you eligible?

To qualify for funding, you must:

  • Be a returning student (current first-year, sophomore, or junior).
  • Be in good academic and social standing.
  • Secure an experience that is at least 6 weeks long and a minimum of 240 hours.
  • Earn a “Success-Ready Résumé” designation. This involves meeting with a career coach or Student Career Assistant (SCA) to ensure your résumé meets industry standards. Pro tip: Schedule your résumé appointment well in advance of the deadlines!
