Professor Layla Oesper was recently recognized for her excellent undergraduate research mentoring by a CRA Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentoring Award. Professor Oesper’s research is in computational biology, and during her time at Carleton, she has provided exemplary mentorship to many undergraduate researchers, with many students publishing their work with her and going on to graduate school as well as careers in research. Professor Oesper’s students speak incredibly highly of her guidance and of how working with her on research had a transformational impact on them.
