We are excited to introduce to you our 2023-24 Student Department Advisors, also known as SDAs. Em Roskopf, Shreya Nair, and Evan Lauer are here to answer your questions about courses, prerequisites, requirements, registration procedures, etc. They also organize social events for the department like the pumpkin carving contest, the t-shirt design contest, and other fun gatherings.

Where I’m from: Chicagoland
Majors: Computer Science and Economics double major, music performance minor
Favorite Food: Soup dumplings!
Research: Worked on “Decoding Tech Support” with Amy Csizmar-Dalal in between freshman and sophomore year. It ended up being quite interdisciplinary and I really enjoyed it! I’ve also done some independent research projects in the past.
Advice: Talk to people! If you’re allowed to work with other people on homework/projects it’s way more fun and debugging is so much easier with a fresh set of eyes.
