Are you tired of coding for a grade? Do you want to meet other CS-interested Carls? Do you want a project that could help you land an internship? Join us for the first Carleton GitTogether weekend.
WHAT: The Carleton GitTogether Weekend is a new annual coding event bringing together CS-interested students from all grades and backgrounds for a weekend of collaborative project building, games, and networking. Leading up to the event, we will host workshops to get you ready. Teams will be assigned on Friday when themes are revealed, then spend the weekend creating their dream projects. The event concludes Sunday with project presentations judged by alumni and CS professionals, followed by networking opportunities.

WHEN: April 10-12, 2026 (2nd weekend of Spring term, confirmed)
WHY:
- Build something fun with your coding skills outside of classwork
- Meet and collaborate with other CS students across different years
- Gain a portfolio project to showcase in your job search
- Learn from industry professionals and alumni
- Compete for exciting prizes (to be revealed!)
- Improve your practical coding and system design skills
WHO: Open to any Carleton student who has completed CS111 or any other programming course. Don’t know system design? No problem! We’ll be hosting preparatory workshops on web servers, databases, and more so you can focus on creating during the event.
HOW TO SIGN UP: Please fill out the interest form – even if the dates don’t work for you – your response helps us gauge interest and plan for future years. Note: filling out this form is not a commitment to the event – we will send out another form to confirm participation in Winter term once we have enough responses to the interest form.
