TL;DR: REGISTER for Lunch Event about INCLUSION IN STEM AT CARLETON!
Week 4 during Common Time (April 22, 12-1pm) in Weitz 236
Are you interested in inclusion in STEM at Carleton? Are you a student or faculty/staff member who is involved in a STEM department? Are you a person who enjoys free food (pizza)? Are you reading this?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, you are cordially invited to Weitz 236 on April 22 from 12-1pm. During this time, the student organization Gender Minorities in Math and Stats (GeMMS) is hosting a pizza lunch to build community for Carls in STEM. We would like to particularly encourage participation from folks who hold an identity that has historically been marginalized in STEM.
After setting aside time for everyone to get to know each other and eat (free!) lunch, we hope to facilitate an informal conversation within small groups, where we will have semi-structured conversations about inclusion at STEM. At the end of this event, we will provide an anonymous way to share feedback and recommendations for how to make STEM at Carleton a more inclusive environment.
Though we would love to see everyone there, space is limited. To reserve your spot and let us know what your pizza preferences are, please fill out this form by April 20 at 5pm. This registration will be first come, first serve.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out! We look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
Elena Parkerson, Nzingha Joseph, Caitlyn Holl (planning committee)
Claire Kelling, MurphyKate Montee, (faculty advisors) & the rest of the GeMMS Board 🙂
