Multiple Dates in Winter Term

  • Do you have an upcoming technical interview or hope to soon? Not sure how to prepare for it? Austin Dahl (’88) spent over 25 years in software development and management at a variety of start-ups and big companies, mostly in the Seattle area. He has interviewed and hired several hundred software engineers and initiated internship programs at two companies. For the past 4 years, he has been volunteering at MinT, a mentorship program for CS professionals and overlooked CS students. See multiple dates available and these are listed on the CS Events calendar, too.

  • 4 – 4:45 p.m. in Leighton 304 / Fellowship Information Session for Sophomores with Carleton’s Director of Student Fellowships, Marynel Ryan Van Zee, will describe the various fellowships students can apply for (now or later), explain what it takes to be a competitive candidate, and answer questions
  • 4:30 to 5:30 pm in AGH Meeting Room / Resume Writing for Juniors and Seniors

Thursday, January 15

  • Weitz Fellows Virtual Information Session on Thursday, January 15th from 7 to 8 p.m. Students are encouraged to RSVP here for a brief overview of the program, including the cohort experience and robust support system for fellows. The event will conclude by allowing students to enter breakout rooms with current Weitz Fellows and organizations of their choice to learn even more about the Weitz Fellowship and the current fellows’ experiences in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska. Faculty and staff do not need to RSVP; here is the Zoom link. The Weitz Fellowship provides one-year, full-time jobs for nine Carleton 2025 graduates at nine nonprofit organizations in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska.

Saturday, January 17

  • 1GEN is hosting a Movie Night featuring the documentary “First Generation” from 7–8:30 PM at the Multi Cultural Center. The film highlights the real experiences of first-generation students and sparks conversation, awareness, and motivation. Snacks will be provided—everyone is welcome!

Saturday, January 24

  • Join us for the Carleton Career Summit at the Weitz Center. Whether you are exploring career paths or finalizing your internship or post-grad plans, the Summit is designed to help you navigate your next steps with confidence. This dynamic, one-day conference is your chance to hear from nearly 50 alumni across eight industry tracks, attend hands-on workshops like “Ace the Interview,” and hear an inspiring keynote from Jean Freeman ’00, Principal and CEO at Zambezi. 
    When: Saturday, January 24 | 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 
    Where: Weitz Center for Creativity
    Deadline: Register by Friday, January 16, at 11:59 p.m. CST.
