  • Student Engagement Series: Budgeting 101 – Olin 141, 5:45 – 7:00 pm. Not sure where to start with your finances? Budgets are a great place to begin. Learn how to reduce finance-related stress by gaining control of your money through creating and working off of a budget. In addition to budgeting, we will also learn techniques to lower your expenses and increase income while noting money philosophies and spending cycles.

  • 10 am to 3 pm / Government & Nonprofit Career Fair allows candidates to pursue professional opportunities and internships in all levels of government and nonprofit agencies. The average participation is about 100 organizations (this year there are 135 registered). The job fair is open only to students and alumni from participating colleges and universities, including Carleton College. Location: University of Minnesota, Coffman Memorial Union Building, Great Hall, Ground Floor, 300 Washington Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455. Transportation provided with registration by Wed., Oct. 29. View the list of registered agencies via Handshake by visiting the event’s Student Landing Page.   • Various times / Summer Analytics Internship & 1:1 Mock Interviews 
    Stephen Hayes, Vice President, Recruiting & Internship/Career Coach at MIAC Analytics, is offering 10 students the opportunity to meet with him 1:1 to conduct a mock interview for their summer internship. This is a great opportunity to practice your interview skills and get feedback from a MIAC recruiter. Plan ahead by coming with questions for Stephen, as well. Drop your résumé when signing up for a meeting slot to share your accomplishments with him.
    Review the Career Center’s interviewing resources site. MIAC Analytics provides pricing, risk management, and accounting solutions for the mortgage and financial services industries. Several Carls have found MIAC to be a great professional fit, including Paul Van Valkenburg ’82, current Principal at MIAC.
