CS Department hiring an Educational Associate for 2025-2026

31 March 2025

The CS Department is hiring for a full-time educational associate position for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a great opportunity if you’re interested in building community, CS education, working with course staff and students, and/or what it’s like to work in higher education. The full job description and link to apply are here.

The Educational Associate will support the department in a variety of ways, with three key areas of responsibility:

  • Supporting CS111 and CS200/201, including working on course materials and directly working with students.
  • Supporting student course staff, including developing and leading professional development activities for students who work for the department.
  • Building community, including helping to foster an inclusive space for students with a wide variety of interests in and experience with CS.

This is a great opportunity to get to work with faculty/staff and students on a much deeper level while getting a behind-the-scenes look at how the department works. Your work in this role has the potential to impact many future generations of Carls.

If you have questions please reach out to Anna Rafferty (arafferty@carleton.edu), our current educational associate Dylan Smith (smithd3@carleton.edu), or to any CS faculty member – we’d love to tell you more!

All applications received by 5pm on Thursday, April 3 will be given full consideration, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis after that date until the position is filled. In your application, please be sure to include both a resume and a cover letter.
