Spring Research Opportunities

14 February 2006

Check out the following two spring research opportunities.

From Amy Csizmar Dalal:

“I’m looking for a few students for various projects related to multimedia networking for Spring term. In particular, I am looking for students to help me organize, set up, and run user tests and analyze the results—it’s a neat little combination of CS and psychology! Please see me for more details.”

From David Liben-Nowell:

“Social networks consist of a set of people and some sort of social relationship connecting those people together. (Think Facebook.) You can just think of them as graphs — nodes are people, and edges are friendships. If you’re interested in getting involved in a research project involving social networks, please contact David Liben-Nowell (dlibenno). I’m looking for people who are interested in getting involved in a (mostly theoretical) project involving trying to find short paths through social networks.

If you’re interested, email me (1) a paragraph on why you’re interested, (2) any relevant experience you’ve had, including classes, and (3) a statement about how likely you are to want to continue to work on this project through next year. There may also be the possibility of working on this project through part of the summer.”
