CS Bits & Bytes "Advice for Job Hunting in the Tech Industry" with Austin Dahl '88

Thu, May 8, 2025 • 3:30pm - 4:30pm (1h) • Anderson 329
Austin Dahl ’88 spent over 25 years in software development and management at a variety of start-ups and big companies, mostly in the Seattle area. He has interviewed and hired several hundred software engineers and initiated internship programs at two companies. For the past 4 years, he has been volunteering at MinT, a mentorship program for CS professionals and overlooked CS students. He also offers mock interview practice sessions for Carleton students applying for software jobs (you can sign up for those here).
At this event, Austin will share advice on various aspects of finding and landing a job in technology. He will share tips, based on his years of experience, on the overall process, finding job openings, writing resumes, and interviewing. He is looking forward to answering questions from students.

Join us for treats, beverages, community and conversation.
