Government & Nonprofit Career Fair
The Government & Nonprofit Career Fair allows candidates to pursue professional opportunities and internships in all levels of government and nonprofit agencies. The average participation is about 100 organizations. The job fair is open only to students and alumni from participating colleges and universities, including Carleton College.

- Transportation provided with registration by Wed., Oct. 23.
- A Carleton Career Center staff member will drive a college vehicle to the fair. We will depart from the front of Willis Hall at 9:00 a.m., expecting to arrive at the fair at 10:00 a.m. We will depart from the event at 12:00 p.m., expecting to return to campus around 1:00 p.m. This is flexible though based on students' needs. A confirmation email will be sent prior to the event.
- Lunch will not be provided.

The panel will feature speakers such as the Clinical Program Manager of the MN Dept Human Services, the Communications and Engagement Program Manager of Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District, HR Assistant Partnership Resources, Inc., and a Diplomat in Residence U.S. Department of State. - Introduction to the Humphrey School + Applying to Grad School 101
1:30-2:30 p.m. located in room 324
Come learn about the graduate programs offered at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs (ranked in the Top 10 nationally) and get tips and tricks on applying to graduate school from the Humphrey's Director of Admissions.
How to prepare to get the most out of the event:
- Review the participating employer information prior to the event and do some initial research on each company before attending.
- Give some thought to questions that you plan to ask the employers.
- Create and practice a 30-second elevator pitch to introduce yourself to the employers.
- Update your LinkedIn profile and résumé, and bring copies of your résumé with you.
- Take notes and follow-up with the employers on any questions afterward.
