Carleton To Sponsor Second Free Computer Equipment Recycling Day

29 February 2008

Carleton College’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department is sponsoring its second free home computing equipment recycling day of the school year on Saturday, March 15 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon.

Carleton is partnering with Material Processing Corporation (MPC) to recycle personal and/or home computing equipment. MPS will have a large truck available for local residents to drop their items in the parking lot south of Laird Stadium, which sits adjacent to Highway 19. (For a Carleton College map, visit http://www.carleton.edu/visitors/.)

There will be no charge to dispose of computing equipment. Allowable equipment includes computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice and other basic computing equipment. This disposal is for personal/home equipment and is not available to businesses.

Carleton sponsored a similar event in December and recycled more than 20,000 pounds of home-computing equipment. You can learn more about these collection days at http://www.materialprocessing.com/news.html.
