CRIC minutes for February 8, 2011 Report Kristen handed out a copy of the report. It includes a brief summary in case the trustees don’t have time to read the full report, but we need to make sure that the trustees are aware of the more detailed information available later in the report. We suggested a few minor changes. Rehearsal Kristen practiced her speech. We suggested that the speech was good but should have a better conclusion. Fred Rogers asked various questions which the Investment Committee might ask. We practiced answering. We are not sure how much grouping we should do among the Political Contributions resolutions. Details on Meeting with Investment Committee We are meeting with the Investment Committee on Thursday; we should aim to get there a little early. CRIC members should dress as they would for a job interview. David Tompkins will not be at the meeting; Joel will speak for his and David’s resolutions. We will try to emphasize financial self-interest, and we will be prepared for questions about financial self-interest. Also we can make the point that commitment to responsible investment is good for Carleton’s image. Fred Rogers will be there but not in his CRIC capacity, so he will not present with us. Steve Poskanzer and Jack Eugster may or may not be there for some or all of the meeting. The committee will not immediately tell us the results; Fred Rogers will email us the next day and tell us. Withdrawn Resolutions The Code Protecting Children resolution at Carnival Corp. was withdrawn. We should check for other resolutions that have been withdrawn. We should not rely solely on Ethvest when doing these checks.
