At the beginning of the meeting, CRIC members discussed the companies and resolutions that they had followed since the last meeting. A couple of resolutions have been withdrawn, and other resolutions will be voted on fairly soon. The committee is going to put together a list that has the outcomes of all the resolutions.

The CRIC also discussed presenting to the CSA, which is hoping to learn more about the school’s various committees. Next year, the CRIC would like to have three new members to fill the places of graduating seniors and members who will be abroad. The CRIC would like to advertise the committee before CSA appoints new members; they hope to do this by tabling as well as getting in touch with the investment group on campus. Chuck has reserved tables in Sayles for the tabling events, which will take place from 11am-1pm Thursday 4/15, Wednesday 4/28, Thursday 4/29, Tuesday 5/11, Wednesday 5/12, and Thursday 5/13. Members are working on flyers and posters for the tabling sessions.

The CRIC is working in various sub-committees this term: one in charge of the survey, one researching peer institutions, and eventually one working on the end-of-the-year report. The survey will incorporate some of the research on peer institutions, and its results will help guide the CRIC’s actions in the future. The committee plans on administering the survey during seventh week. By Friday of fourth week, the research group will have its initial research done to present to the rest of the committee. At that meeting, David Tompkins will also present his findings on Carleton’s values. The CRIC may meet with Bob Nelson, one of the Trustees, for a broad financial lesson on May 13. The next meeting with the entire committee is scheduled for Friday, April 23 at 3:30pm. The committee also plans to meet May 7 at 3:30pm to go over the survey.
