During the last meeting of the year, the CRIC discussed finishing its final remaining projects: a report on the survey for the Carletonian, a final report on the committee’s work mandated by the CRIC Charter, and updating the CRIC website with this year’s work.

The survey had a good turnout, including more than two hundred students and nearly 100 staff members. However, the CRIC was not yet able to distribute the survey widely to the faculty, which it will do in the fall. According to the survey, the Carleton Community places importance on the following issues in decreasing order: human rights, sustainability, healthcare, divestment from Sudan, and executive compensation. A subcommittee will work on putting together an analysis of the survey results to go in the last issue of the Carletonian.

The CRIC’s final report will consist of an introduction addressing the committee’s revival, the resolutions and recommendations given to the Trustees, a section on the timing issues the CRIC encountered this year, the report on the survey, and a section on goals and plans for the future. The CRIC split up these components between committee members and will assemble the entire report before the end of the year.

Updating the website will consist of posting the resolutions that CRIC made recommendations on, the survey report, and the economic analysis report put together for the Trustees. David Schlosser will send these documents to Jane Hubbard, who will put them on the website.

Fred Rogers also informed the committee that the Trustees received the follow-up report at their last meeting, and that they will email Fred with any questions or comments.
