Following the 2020 EAC review of the 2011 Climate Action Plan, President Byerly appointed the Sustainability Working Group to guide a process for updating our sustainability commitments and climate commitments to expand our work. The Sustainable Futures Framework was approved by Trustees in 2024. In parallel institutional goals for sustainability appear in our Carleton 2033 Strategic Direction in Goal 6, “A holistic commitment to sustainability will integrate campus operations with academic approaches to environmental studies and climate change, creating a living laboratory for environmental education.” The EAC supports community input and advice for advancing our goals for sustainability, climate Action, and environmental justice
