Also referred to as “Comps,” the Senior Symposium (CLAS 400), combined with the Senior Seminar (CLAS 384, 385, 386 or 387), completes the senior integrative exercise.

Majors use proposals (“abstracts”) developed in the Senior Seminar to compose a twenty minute presentation. These presentations are delivered at a symposium on the model of professional conferences. The talks are then revised into articles to be submitted to a journal of professional style, accepted and edited by the group into a presentable volume.
