Classics Student Practice Talk: "Fuisse Ferar": Sulpicia's Temporal Compression of Fama in [Tibullus] 3.13

Thu, January 29, 2026 • 12:00pm - 1:00pm (1h) • LDC 104

Join the Classics Department as they host a student practice talk for Zoe Roettger '27, Classics Major and MARS Minor.

Zoe builds on recent scholarship that focuses on Roman poet Sulpicia to examine her use of tense aspect and verbal voice in the first of her elegies, which constructs a reality wherein a woman in Augustan Rome may, through her syntax, lay claim to fama (report, rumor, renown, reputation).

Pizza and sparkling water will be provided by the Classics Department. This event is open to our Carleton community, and will require a OneCard for entry into the LDC.
