CAMS visiting Assistant Professor Cecilia Cornejo to showcase work-in-progress on her new film “Ways of Being Home.”

The CAMS community gathered in the Weitz Cinema on Saturday, January 21 for winter term CAMS comps symposium. Senior CAMS majors presenting their comps projects included Bobby Volpendesta, Ed Hendrickson, Jillian Banner, and Chris Griffin. 

The French and CAMS departments recently invited Carleton alum Kelley Conway ’86 to return to Carleton to give a talk based on her outstanding new book, Agnès Varda (University of Illlinois Press 2015), which has been “highly recommended” by Choice Reviews. Conway is a professor of film studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

CAMS professor Rini Keagy recently gave a public talk on a multi-media installation Ordinal [SW/NE], which she co-produced with artist Miljohn Ruperto. The producers are now working on a film as a further exploration of the subject matter in the installation.

CAMS professor Cecilia Cornejo premiered her new documentary film, Make No Noise: The Story of a Skatepark, to an overflow crowd at the Weitz Center for Creativity on Sunday, December 19 at 4:30pm. 

Composer Andy Brick recently visited Professor Ron Rodman’s CAMS 242: Sound and Music in Television and New Media class.

CAMS was honored to host filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako for a screening of his masterful film Timbuktu and visit to Professor Jay Beck’s CAMS 110 class on Friday, April 3.

On Monday, October 6, Spanish filmmaker Oscar Clemente presented his 2011 film, Keep on Rolling: The Dream of the Automobile, in the Weitz Cinema, and on Wednesday, he was the featured guest at an informal CAMS Orange Couch Conversation.
