Downstream Environmental Film Series

The Cannon River Watershed Partnership is set to begin a three-week session of films and discussion related to the environment, Downstream Environmental Film Series. CAMS visiting assistant professor Cecilia Cornejo helped CRWP find films from students to program. “Documentaries can inform, persuade and inspire an audience,” Cornejo explains. “Especially when the films are experienced communally and discussed collectively.”

Among the films to be included in the series is “Who are You Now?” by recent CAMS grad Charlie Kilman. The film explores and comes to grips with the implications of attending a small liberal arts college in Minnesota that was founded four years after the U.S. Dakota War.

Festival screenings are scheduled for Feb 11, 4:30-7:00pm in Tomson Hall room 280, St Olaf College, Feb 18, 4:30-7:00pm in the Weitz Center Cinema at Carleton College, and Feb 25 from 4:30-8:00pm at the Northfield High School Auditorium. The sessions are free but donations are appreciated. Visit the Cannon River Watershed Partnership’s Facebook page for more information.
