We are happy to announce that the 2022 Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates(REU) program in the School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron is open to apply.
Qualified undergraduate students are encouraged to submit applications. The application deadline is Friday, February 11, 2022.
This competitive REU program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, The University of Akron, and corporate sponsors. Students will participate in a 9-week internship to investigate a fundamental question within the broad disciplines of polymer science and polymer engineering, including chemistry, physics, engineering, and biomaterials. These interns will take part in research and career development activities, discussions outlining their research progress and visits to regional companies. The summer will culminate with an oral or poster presentation of each intern’s research results at the Northeast Ohio NSF-REU Undergraduate Research Conference.
Support for this 9-week summer 2022 program includes a $5,400 stipend. In addition, on-campus housing is provided.
