Nate Livingston ’16
PhD Candidate, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine

Major: chemistry. After graduating from Carleton with a chemistry degree in 2016, Nate enrolled in a PhD program at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is studying biochemistry, cellular biology, and molecular biology. In his PhD research, Nate uses single-molecule techniques in live cells coupled with theoretical modeling to study and describe the life of mRNA from birth to death. Nate plans to pursue a career in venture capital and tech commercialization after earning his doctorate degree.
