Graduate and Undergraduate Chemistry Research Opportunities at West Virginia University

10 January 2022

Doctoral program in Chemistry.

The WVU Department of Chemistry is the only PhD granting chemistry department in the State of West Virginia. We have received R1 (highest research) designation from the Carnegie Classification System. We offer graduate students guaranteed competitive stipends ($23,000 for 2022-23 academic year) to support either a teaching assistantship or research assistantship, full University tuition waivers for a student’s time in the PhD program, as well as substantial annual meritorious fellowship support. We will begin reviewing applications for the Fall 2022 term in mid-December and our application deadline for priority review is January 1st. However, due to the continuing problems arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, we will review all applications that arrive after January 1st and through the spring term until all spaces in our Fall 2022 class are filled. Applicants with a GPA above 3.2 will qualify for an application fee waiver.

Please contact Brian.Popp@mail.wvu.edu or Chemistry.DGS@mail.wvu.edu to request the fee waiver code. Motivated students who currently have less than a 3.0 GPA are encouraged to contact me to discuss potential opportunities in our graduate program.
