Fall Information Sessions for CEMB Summer Undergrad Research

6 October 2021

Interested in conducting multidisciplinary research at the interface of biology, physics, and engineering? Want an immersive summer experience?

The Center for Engineering MechanoBiology (CEMB) invites you to apply for our summer undergraduate research program, Undergraduates Expanding Boundaries (UExB). This is a 10-week, on-campus program at the University of Pennsylvania and Washington University in St. Louis beginning May 31, 2022. Students are matched to projects within research groups based on their interests and educational backgrounds. Many projects are interdisciplinary and provide opportunities to develop research skills in the physical and biological sciences as well as engineering. Students develop practical skills in doing science: collaborating, designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating results. Other aspects of the program complement the lab experience and are oriented toward professional development, community building, and exploring the campus and city!

If you are interesting in learning more, we will be hosting two virtual information sessions this fall. Graduating soon? Consider pursuing a mechanobiology PhD! We will also discuss ongoing research and faculty that you could work with for a PhD.
