Gerry Wright is the Director of the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research. He is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, an Associate member in the Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Biology and of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. Gerry was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (2012) and a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology (2013), and was named a McMaster Distinguished University Professor in 2016. He is the author of over 240 manuscripts and is a member of the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals and consults widely for the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
