CBWS Recruitment

11 May 2023

Are you interested in social justice, food sovereignty, and regenerative agriculture? Do you want to get paid for fulfilling work tackling these issues?

The Center for Community and Civic Engagement is now accepting applications for the Community-Based Work Study program. This year, we are partnering with several environmental and land access organizations that may be of interest:

Sharing Our Roots Farm

Sharing Our Roots Farm, a regenerative agriculture farm that prioritizes land access for BIPOC and immigrant farmers, has two open positions:

  1. Administrative Assistant: this role assists with the day-to-day operations of Sharing Our Roots, and can be performed in-person in Sharing Our Roots’ downtown office or remotely. This is a great opportunity to see how a functioning nonprofit works!
  2. Farm Site Assistant: this NEW position will assist the Farm Site Manager and Cohort Facilitator with on-site requests, working directly with Sharing Our Roots staff and LandShare farmers throughout the year. The student in this role will get to experience first-hand how an organization translates its values into action.

Want to learn more? Come visit with a Sharing Our Roots staff member from 12-1pm on Tuesday, May 16 in Lower Sayles!

Clean River Partners

Clean River Partners, a local hard-hitting organization that focuses on the Cannon River and its surrounding land, has one open position:

  1. Communications Specialist: This position will ask a student to assist in Clean River Partners’ communications with members and broader community members to showcase their great work and invite more folks in.

Interested in applying? Visit the Student Job Postings page to view all of our open positions and our application. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so don’t wait!

Note: Students who qualify for federal or state work study will be prioritized for these positions. If you have questions about your eligibility, please reach out to Danielle Trajano (dtrajano@carleton.edu).

All the best,
