The Career Center will be hosting an internship panel for students to hear first-hand from other students about what to expect in their internships. Students will hear the stories of other Carleton students in the internships and talk about how to prepare for an enriching summer experience.
Panelists include Ally Tucker (AmSt) ’18, who interned at the Department of State in Washington, D.C.; Syd Botz (CS & AmSt) ’19, who interned at the Lakota Language Initiative on the Pine Ridge Reservation; and, Diana Tyutyunnyk (Biology) ’19, who interned at the Center for Computational Neuroscience and Neural Technology in Boston, MA.
All three of the students had excellent (and sometimes challenging) summers and are eager to share their insights with the group. We will hear about some of the things that surprised them, what they are most proud of, and life skills, including how they managed to feed themselves and stay healthy for the summer. We will also focus on preparing for the first day of your internship and working with supervisors and teams, and navigating new cities.
