The UNT Chemistry Department is hosting a Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program entitled “Team-Mentored Interdisciplinary Research Experiences in Chemistry for Early-Stage Undergraduates.” Selected students will participate in an immersive 10-week summer research experience (May 30 – August 7, 2020) that centers on collaborative team-based projects at the cutting edge of chemistry research. In addition to comprehensive training in research techniques, the program includes a variety of career development activities, visits to industrial facilities, and opportunities for recreation on weekends and evenings. The application deadline has been extended to March 13, 2020.
Benefits:
- $5,000 stipend.

Who should apply:
- Students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
- Undergraduate students majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field, who have not completed more than two years of college.
- Students who are considering graduate school and/or a career in research.
- Students from groups underrepresented in STEM (women, NSF-defined underrepresented minorities, and students with disabilities) and students from community colleges or 4-year colleges with limited research opportunities are particularly encouraged to apply.
