2020 REU Internships in the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron

6 January 2020

We are happy to announce that the 2020 Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program in the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron is open to apply.

Qualified undergraduate students should submit applications. The application deadline is Friday, February 14, 2020.

This competitive REU program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, The University of Akron, and corporate sponsors. Students will participate in an 11-week internship to investigate a fundamental question within the broad disciplines of polymer science and polymer engineering, including chemistry, physics, engineering, and biomaterials.  These interns will take part in research and career development activities, discussions outlining their research progress and visits to regional companies.  The summer will culminate with an oral or poster presentation of each intern’s research results at the Northeast Ohio NSF-REU Undergraduate Research Conference.

Support for this 11-week summer 2020 program is $7,500 ($5,500 is paid directly to student, $2000 is allocated directly to on-campus housing and related expenses.)

Our program will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, and will end on Friday, August 7, 2020.  For further information, please visit our website:  http://www.uakron.edu/cpspe/academics/reu-summer-internships.dot
