Chemistry Department Seminar: Research Recruiting
Part 2
Interested in doing research on campus this summer?
We will discuss on-campus summer research opportunities with chemistry faculty as well as application procedures.
Everyone is welcome — this discussion is designed for students at any stage in their study of chemistry.
Though we of course are not certain that public health considerations will allow on-campus research to proceed this summer, as of now we hope that we will be able to offer research opportunities to students in the chemistry faculty members’ laboratories. With that in mind, we have put together a document with additional details regarding what our plans for on-campus research at Carleton will look like this summer and how to apply, and each faculty member has put together a brief video describing their lab’s research. This document and the videos will be linked on the department research page soon. There will also be a brief presentation this Friday, January 14, at 3:30 pm during which we will run through the application process and take any questions you might have regarding summer research this year. Hope to see you there!

In addition to hands-on research experience, student support includes $6,500 stipend, campus housing, and travel assistance. The deadline to apply is February 11, 2022. Supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation’s Division of Ocean Sciences, this REU program supports ten undergraduate students to conduct research in marine science.
