Periodic Table meets this week
There will not be a Journal Club this week. Instead, plan to join us for the Periodic Table .

12:00 p.m. / Old Music Hall 103 to the LDCWe meet at noon in the hallway of Old Music by 103 and walk over together, or you can join us there. If you are off board, the department will cover your lunch. Look for the Periodic Table reserved signs by the east windows.

Lunch with Seminar Speaker on Friday
Lunch will be this Friday, November 9 from 1:10-2:10 in the LDC. Students on and off board are welcome. Meet in the hallway outside of Old Music Hall 103 to walk over to the LDC. I have reserved the “Class of ’51 dining room” for lunch today.

We are seeking curious and highly motivated students with strong science backgrounds. If selected, these students receive an all-expense paid opportunity to complete a 6 week summer course in Nuclear and Radiochemistry in either California or New York. They also earn hours (tuition paid) of undergraduate chemistry credit through either San Jose State University or SUNY-Stony Brook. Selected students also receive a stipend of $4,000.
The deadline for applications is February 1, 2019.

Program: Summer research appointments are available for undergraduate students in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering and related fields, between their junior and senior years, who intend to pursue graduate studies and have an interest in polymers and coatings science. Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials (CPM) at North Dakota State University (NDSU) is widely recognized as one of the top educational and research departments in its field.
Applications deadline is March 1st, 2019.

Applications are now open for the 2019 Molecular Imaging Summer Program, sponsored by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the 2019 Chemical Biology Summer Program, sponsored by the Tri-Institutional PhD Program in Chemical Biology. These 10-week programs begin on June 3, 2019 and end on August 9, 2019.
