"Shaping the Future of Augmented Reality: The Role of Material Science"
The next major shift in how we interact with digital content may be driven by the rise of industrial-scale Augmented Reality (AR) devices. These innovative consumer electronics have the potential to seamlessly integrate AI tools into our daily lives and create new ways to exchange information between the physical and digital worlds.
However, the widespread adoption of high-performance, affordable AR devices is still limited by the optical materials available today. This challenge is sparking a transformation in both AR technology and the broader field of optics, as researchers seek new materials and chemistries to meet growing demands.
In this seminar, we will explore how chemists and materials scientists are at the forefront of this technological revolution. We’ll discuss their critical role in developing the next generation of AR devices, and how advances in materials science are shaping the future of technology, semiconductors, and optics.
**This seminar counts towards the chemistry major seminar attendance requirement.
