Mysticism as a Way of Being

Thu, February 15, 2024 • 6:30pm - 8:15pm (1h 45m) • Weitz 236

Mystical traditions provide insight into the deepest dimension of religion. They envisage life as a journey to Ultimate Reality-- however that might be named. Mysticism is not only a philosophy but a lived experience that may involve prayer, meditation, and other contemplative practices, alongside cultivating virtues, all of which aid one in reaching one's highest potential or self. Through the perspectives of various scholars and practitioners of different mystical traditions, this panel will discuss how such traditions are embodied and what wisdom they offer.

Panelists: Noam Sienna, Steven McMichael, Fuad Naeem
Sponsors: EthIC, MARS, Chaplain's Office, Religion

Dinner from Desi Diner provided.
