Martin Luther King, Jr. Service of Remembrance & Celebration
This is a service honoring the life and work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The speaker will be Rev. Kelly Chatman and musical guest is Robert Robinson.
Rev. Chatman is a nationally sought-after teacher of the church in the
areas of multi-cultural leadership, community engagement and congregational revitalization. He is the founder and Executive Director of the Center for Leadership and Neighborhood Engagement, based in Minneapolis, MN. Previously he served for 20 years as pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church and as Executive Director of Redeemer Center for Life.
Robert Robinson has been called "Minnesota's greatest gospel singer" by the Star Tribune. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has described Robert as “a volcanic talent.” His performance was depicted as “glorious” by the Salt Lake City Deseret News, and the Minneapolis Star Tribune proclaimed Robert to be “a soaring presence.” Perhaps more importantly, Minnesota’s Insight News distinguished Robert as “a beloved institution,” a nod to both his service to the community and his sterling life’s work.
Dinner following the service will be from Desi Diner.
Cosponsored by BSA & OIL.
