Quaker Voluntary Service

Live your values while gaining valuable job skills and living in a community!

Quaker Voluntary Service (QVS) is an experiment at the intersection of transformational spirituality and activism, an 11-month Fellowship program for young adults aged 21-30. Check out all of their openings via Handshake.

Participants engage in social justice work, live in an intentional community, and explore Quaker practices around decision-making, sustainability, discernment, and simplicity.

Participating Fellows receive room, board, transportation, a monthly stipend, and support of QVS staff and local meeting members among many other benefits. QVS currently has houses in Minneapolis, Boston, Philadelphia, and Portland, OR.

QVS Recruiting Manager, Ruth Cutcher, will be on-campus to answer your questions and discuss how a QVS year could fit into your post-grad options by launching your career in the social justice non-profit sector.

Ray Hommeier, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Coordinator, manages all aspects of a year-long service Fellowship, including establishing partnerships with local justice-oriented organizations and recruiting Fellows. During the Fellowship year, Ray supports the material and spiritual health of Fellows by facilitating group processing and individual check-ins.
