Blessed by This Land: An Interfaith Spiritual Walk

Sun, May 22, 2022 • 5:00pm • Beginning walk from Chapel.
In many religious traditions, the beauty and importance of the natural world is given a central place. We can all acknowledge and celebrate the renewing power of nature, and our reliance on its gifts.
For example, in the medieval Christian tradition, "Walking the Parish" was a yearly ceremony of walking around the boundaries of a village and saying prayers to honor the land that villagers relied on to sustain them.
This Sunday, we will come together as a campus community for an interfaith celebration of the land we live on. We will walk around our campus, stopping to say prayers and sing songs from many traditions that celebrate the natural world.  All are welcome to walk and take a moment to reflect, or to bring poetry, readings, stories, or sacred texts from your own tradition to contribute. We will return to the chapel at the end of our walk for dinner and conversation.

Led by CA Sam Zimmerman with the help of other Chaplain's Associates and students. Contact @zimmermans with questions or if you'd like to contribute something from your tradition. Bring a friend!
