While many people have commented on how the Chapel seems brighter, it is hard to realize the difference that the stone cleaning and repairs made unless you see the before and after pictures. The restoration work in the summer of 2019 mitigated the water, dirt, and oil stains of the previous 103 years.
In addition to the stone work, new solid oak pews — built to match the shape of the original pews — were installed. The burlap-and horsehair transept ceilings were replaced, and a hearing assistance loop was laid under the new flooring of the sanctuary.
