In collaboration with the Carleton Career Center and Off-Campus Studies, Carleton’s Global Engagement Initiative designed a pilot internship program for students participating in off-campus study programs. CGRS plans to continue these efforts.
After their intensive academic program, selected students can choose to prolong their stay in their international location with a professionally-oriented internship that continues to reinforce their learning of language and culture in an immersive environment. Drawing on various resources, we help to subsidize student expenses.
This is an example of how students can integrate their off campus study experiences into their broader education.
The pilot program included the Paris and Berlin OCS programs. We look forward to assisting other OCS programs as they expand their reach into the pre-professional opportunities of internships abroad.
