“We filmed this documentary in Kochi Prefecture, on the island of Shikoku from Fall 2019 to Spring 2021. Paper mulberry trees, used to make traditional Japanese paper, have long been a valuable cash crop here. Focussing on the cultivation of these trees we studied life in these mountains over a period of 18 months.” (Studio Garret)
