CCST 270 Photo Exhibit
Travel marks us. Encounters with the new, the different, and the inscrutable encourage us to see the world otherwise. If we’re lucky, we can convey parts of this experience to those around us.
Images Otherwise is a micro-exhibit designed to translate experiences of otherness into a shared form. The work is a product of Cross-Cultural Studies 270: Creative Travel Writing. Each student selected an image expressing some facet of their experiences abroad. This picture (which may be a photo, a map, or even a crude drawing) works in tandem with a prose complement. Word and image shed light on one another, providing a glimpse of lived experience that may otherwise be difficult to render.
