Swipe Out Hunger is a not-for-profit organization that partners with colleges and universities to help end food insecurity on campuses across the US. Carleton partners with Swipe Out Hunger by running a Café Fast each term, where participants sign up to forgo a meal swipe seventh week at the dining hall. The money raised goes to students experiencing food insecurity on campus. Money from donated meal swipes goes to the Dean of Students’ Office, where it is earmarked for students who experience food insecurity. From there, students can request funds to get into the dining halls for meals.
