Program Description

Adopt-a-Grandparent matches college volunteers with elderly residents living at Three Links Care Center. The goal of the program is to foster intergenerational friendships that give college students a connection to the Northfield community and senior citizens companionship. Activities may include conversing, reading aloud, playing cards, and simple crafts. Group visits occur on Sundays, but volunteers may also choose to visit their grandparents independently during the week.

Level of Commitment

Adopt-a-Grandparent is a weekly commitment. Volunteers meet outside Sayles at 12:45 PM on Sundays and drive together to Three Links Care Center, where their grandparents live. Visits typically last one hour, and volunteers are back on campus by 2:15 PM.
