The Runway Revival concept was dreamed up through the partnership between the Community Action Center (CAC) and Carleton’s Center for Community and Civic Engagement (CCCE) with the dual purpose of highlighting the environmental stewardship of the CAC and raising funds for its programming. The event had multiple goals relating to inclusion, zero waste, building community and highlighting the programming offered at the CAC. For example, our scaled ticket pricing was designed to address income inequality and promote inclusion at the event.

The event was held in Carleton’s Great Hall and tickets sold out days before the highly anticipated event. It was a truly unique and inspiring evening; seamlessly blending art, sustainability, and community. We celebrated the unique refashioned designs made from 90% recycled, upcycled and landfill avoided material. Each artist put a tremendous amount of care into their designs and statements.
