Through the Public Works: Arts & Humanities Connecting Communities Initiative, CCCE sponsored a course titled: Community-based Learning & Scholarship: Ethics, Practices  focused on civic engagement. This course was co-taught by Associate Director for Academic Civic Engagement and Scholarship Emily Oliver and community organizer Cynthia Gonzalez.

In a recent blog post, Cynthia Gonzalez reflects on her experiences co-teaching the class, her path to community organizing, and the importance of civic engagement.

To learn more about Cynthia Gonzalez’s reflections, you can find the full blog post on the Public Works’ website, as well as the second part to this blog post in the coming weeks!
