Fri, May 8, 2026
• 10:00am
- 11:00am (1h) • Sayles 151
Enjoy free coffee & donuts while visiting with the Center for Community and Civic Engagement staff and Fellows. Spend time with other students, faculty, and staff from all over campus.
Stop by to get a preview of Empty Bowls, set for May 15, 11:30am - 1:15pm. This annual event on campus raises money for the local food shelf through a shared meal of community-donated soup served in handmade bowls. Learn more about this event and also get answers to questions like the following:
What is the Empty Bowls Pop-up Sale? Avoid the lines and get your bowl ahead of time at this pop-up sale in Sayles on May 12. This way, you can go straight to the soup!
Where do the bowls come from? Students from the Ceramics: Throwing ACE class will be on hand to explain how things come together.
Who provides the soup? Soup is lovingly prepared by volunteers from among the campus community including staff, faculty, and students. Options range from vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free, to meat and dumplings. All soups will have labels with ingredient lists for you to make your soup selection.
Want to contribute by making soup? We are still looking for volunteers to make soup! Get in touch with Fay in the CCCE to sign up.
