We would like to announce a round of applications for grants to support public scholarship. These small grants are intended to help support the completion and dissemination of a public scholarship project. Recognizing that public scholarship dissemination may take many forms, some suggestions for how the funds may be used include travel to meet with a community partner, registration or travel to a conference, hiring a student worker(s), and/or costs related to technology (e.g., software or app development).

The grants awarded are designed to supplement other funding sources, and will typically be in $500- $1,000 range. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

There are limited funds to support this program and projects will be evaluated for approval as they are submitted. Requests will be reviewed by the Broom Fellow for Public Scholarship in conjunction with the Center for Community and Civic Engagement.

Recipients of the funds are expected to participate in the Day of Public Scholarship, scheduled for June 8, 2023, and provide an evaluative report of the work supported by the funds.

If you have any questions please contact Palmar Alvarez-Blanco, Broom Fellow for Public Scholarship.
