Professor Melissa Eblen-Zayas and Martha Larson, manager of campus energy and sustainability present at the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Conference.

Melissa Eblen-Zayas, associate professor of physics, and Martha Larson, manager of campus energy and sustainability, will be presenting a poster “Making meaningful curricular connections to campus operations and community initiatives” at the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Conference in Minneapolis on October 26. They will present three case studies of how Carleton faculty and staff have developed and supported sustainability projects with campus and community partners over an extended period of time through a mix of curricular work, internships, and student work-study jobs. The projects highlighted include developing a campus sustainability project guide, assisting the Northfield Environmental Quality Commission with a community curbside composting pilot program, and supporting Northfield in its efforts to meet GreenStep Cities best practices.
