The Phillips Scholars Program supports potential leaders with outstanding academic credentials who intend to dedicate a portion of their lives to community service.
Six college sophomores are chosen each year for the Phillips Scholars Program, earning scholarship dollars and support for summer projects that they create and run that improve the community.
The total award is worth $16,500 over two years: $6,000 junior-year scholarship, a $4,000 summer award to support the development and implementation of a self-designed service project to address unmet needs in Minnesota communities, $500 from the project resource funding and a $6,000 senior-year scholarship contingent on the successful completion of the summer project. The participating students collaborate with the other Phillips Scholars and are given an amazing chance to turn their own ideas into action, helping make the world a better place.
With a 20-plus year history, The Phillips Scholars program is supported by the Jay & Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota and managed by the Minnesota Private College Fund.
